Software

Khác với khối A, khối B cần mua thẻ giấy phép.

software for teachers and language centers
software that is designed to build and present lessons, talk to ai, record speech, create and analyze transcripts, and deliver value to students, teachers, parents and schools.
Three pipelines, two parts
the app visualized as a transit map. It has 3 lines.

these lines are processes with steps. The system is arranged and optimized to streamline these processes. Let’s go for a ride and discover what these processes are and what the system delivers for you.
The introduction is divided into parts A and B. Looking at the map, part A is everything before ‘Transcribe’ and Part B is Transcribe and everything after it.
Author, present, record
plus VerbiPart A is mainly about authoring and presenting lessons.
Create a segment
The Lessons tab is what you first see when you open the app. It is where all your lessons live.
click on a lesson and it opens the segment view. Lessons can have many segments. The segments view shows the individual segment and all its contents. You can create, edit, delete and navigate between the segments in this view. Try adding a photo and recording voice audio for that photo.

Click ‘Present’ to see the slides.

Segment content
These presentations aren’t powerpoint or pdf. They aren’t saved as separate documents. Instead, the data and media are stored and retrieved from the database and media folder. The slides are generated on the fly.
why store lessons this way? — lessons can vary in size and shape but fit the same container. This lets the author’s writing evolve over time without breaking the organizational system. It also makes it possible to store far more content without losing visibility or control. Finally, there is the capability to interface with the content by a computer program.
Segment structure
Back in 2015, I attended a live slideshow presentation by an elderly couple who had gone on a bicycle trip in Russia. The presentation took place in the community room of the library and was open to the public. The elderly couple used a projector and a screen to show photos of the trip. At each photo, they narrated to the audience some explanation, discovery or encounter.
• Lessons have segments, segments have photos, photos have narrations and comprehension questions.
They showed a photo of a pair of hands. The hands looked strong. The couple said that while riding in the hills they met a Russian shepherdess. The shepherdess had asked them to take a photograph of her hands. Here the slideshow paused, and the presenter pondered aloud about the reason for the request. He postulated that the woman is someone who works hard and makes a living by the work of her hands. He directed the question to the audience: ‘is what you do important to who you are?’.
• Segments have reflection questions.
The question ‘is what you do important to who you are?’ logically extends from the photo of the hands and its narration about whose hands they were and what she requested. The audience understood the meaning of the question after following the story. This progression is a variation on a common shape.
observe, comprehend, reflect
listen, understand, respond
present, practice, produce
The segment has photos, narrations, comprehension questions and reflection questions. A single segment can hold a full progression.
tip: A 5 segment lesson with 2 discussions contains a beginning, ending, 2 topics of discussions and a halftime break.
Presenting
Lessons can be presented both manually and automatically. The presenter shares the slides, narrates and facilitates discussions.
To present manually, click Present from the segment view. Here are the controls to operate a manual presentation:
- ← / → Prev / Next
- P / Q Play narration / questions
- S Stop audio
- R Record class audio, then follow the prompts
- E Refresh emojis
- ? Show or close the keyboard shortcuts
To present automatically, use the autoplay panel in the Lessons tab. Multiple lessons can be added to the autoplay queue. The autoplay will present each segment of each lesson in the queue, stopping at each discussion for a preset amount of time.
Autoplay options are ‘Record Discussions’, ‘Use Verbi’ and ‘Schedule’. These options can work either together or separately. For example, if the options ‘Record Discussions’ and ‘Use Verbi’ are both checked, then at each discussion the ai voice will engage and audio is recorded.
Transcribe, analyze, report
plus the Viet-subtitle video pipelinePart B is about analysis and deliverables.
What deliverables are, and why they matter
At a center with a large number of younger students, the curriculum and method of teaching involved as the production a pre-scripted performance, such as a song or play. They were practiced and produced in small groups, and it was recorded against a green screen and virtual background. The clips were branded and shared with the parents of the students. Parents share with grandparents and friends.
In part B we produce two deliverables: Translated-subtitle videos and speaker reports, both with branding.
Requirements
You need two things to use part B.
1A licence
Unlike part A, part B needs a purchased licence card. One card activates up to 3 computers. In Settings, open the Licence tab and press Activate online….
2Hardware
Your computer must be able to load and run a local AI model. Choose the base, small or medium model to suit your device. The small model needs at least 8 GB of RAM and 1 GB of free disk space. Details are on the Settings page.
Speaker report
Let’s do transcript analysis and export pdf reports.
This is the Recordings tab. New recordings appear in the recordings table.

To transcribe recordings, select the recordings and transcribe from the actions dropdown. This runs the transcription and diarization model to produce a text transcript with speaker labels.

Once finished, click ‘open’ to open the transcript page. Review and correct the speaker attribution if necessary.

Next, assign each speaker label to an existing speaker. If the speaker doesn’t exist yet, then first create the speaker in the Speakers tab.

Save the speaker labels, and the transcript analysis runs instantly:
Per-transcript, measures across speakers of a single transcript.

Per-speaker, measures a single speaker across all their history.

For each speaker, the recording history.

finally, export pdf speaker reports from either Speakers or Recordings tabs.

Translated subtitle speaking videos
A different language center also producing speaking videos was adding translated subtitles to its videos. The captions were edited and translated directly in the video editor itself, by scrolling through each frame of the video and editing each caption. The production was most limited by this step.
Lessonslides’ process widens this bottleneck by instead editing the subtitles as a single file in a text editor, BEFORE the video. The user doesn’t scroll video frames, and can use find and replace to efficiently edit pronouns and speakers’ names. Also, the entire contents of the file can be pasted at once into a translation app while preserving timestamps.

to create the video, click Create video. The recording’s audio, the image of the lesson segment it was recorded on, and the translated subtitles are combined into a video you can download and share.

the logo and the splashscreen are added automatically. Set them in settings.
