Topic: pace of life

Thesis: The pace of life is fast and slow in Hanoi.

Like a river is moving onward, life is moving onward.  In some places life moves fast, and in other places it is slow.  The pace of life is fast and slow in Hanoi.

Riding on the back of the motorbike taxi is a fast feeling.  There is excitement.  There is action.  There is the smell of exhaust from a hundred other motorbikes moving around you like a river.

When you arrive at the cafe, you go up to the second floor where you are alone in a room.  This is the slow, peaceful feeling.  There is a flower alone on the windowsill.  It is quiet.  There are books asleep on a bookshelf.

Like a river that is sometimes fast, sometimes slow, the pace of life in Hanoi is fast and slow.

Q. Is life where you are fast or slow?  How so?

Q. Some say the purpose of life is simply to enjoy it.  Others say there is some greater purpose than this.  What do you think?
