Motivation to learn
The motivation to learn a language can be external and internal. I’ll talk about each one today.
External motivation is wanting to learn because you want to pass a test or get a better job. I think that this is what is emphasized to students.
Internal motivation is wanting to learn for your own self. This could be because you enjoy it or are very interested in something. I think that this kind of motivation leads to better outcomes for learning.
I think that for some students in the higher levels, we should introduce them to more art, theater and literature and to more real and beautiful things.
